This was my first time at Green Man. The wonderful photos above bring back some happy memories.

I loved seeing bands the words of whose music I know by heart - The National and Wildbeasts - both with their unique sounds. Fuck Buttons had us first rocking and then dancing in succession, Majik Markers were breathtaking, Black Mountain moved me greatly, Cats in Paris impressed me with their tunes, voices and violins but in my opinion the accolades go to Laura Marling and Marcus Mumford who were simply outstanding.

Seeing Caribou again was great - I love the skill, timing and energy of this band. James Yorkston was not someone I knew, but I was immediately won over, and trying to be objective I think his was one of the finest performances at the festival.
