This just in as Glenn Richards (centre, above) pops up on a public forum to give an update on progress to a follow up to bonza last outing ‘Moo, You Bloody Choir’. And about time too.
Hi, it’s Glenn. Quite right to be a little impatient, we’re unforgivably crap at the online game. I’d like to put it down to growing up in a time when you rode around the city taping posters to poles and cafe walls – all this business of doing all your networking via myspace etc leaves me cold, however effective it may be – but of course you’ve got to move with the times and we’re a ‘big’ band now. Which also means we won’t be doing any computer bleep stuff stuff as that’s already been and gone for the 17th time this and last century. Being the slavish types we are we will instead try to anticipate where in the tired old cycle of revision we should aim and write/dress/act appropriately. I figure it’ll be early grunge by July so there’s something to aim at. I’ll be re-visiting the pony tail.
We recently spent 3 weeks in a Collingwood rehearsal room and belted out about 12, there’s about 18 all up at the moment and likely to be another 4 at least by mid
May which is when we take off to NZ for 3 weeks at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studios. Following that a couple of us will go to LA where the album will be mixed. We’re working with a bloke called Joe Chicarelli who you can google for info, suffice it to say he’s a lovely fella, doesn’t might a bit of co-producer action, and he’s got a decent old record of records. There’s not really a theme this time around but I will say that so far the songwriting is a step above Moo. What happens from here is anyone’s guess. Edmondo is apparently working on a bit of cheesy footage from pre-production to put up on the site and we are trying to gee each other up to be more pro-active about these things.
All for now, Cheers, G
‘A step above Moo’? That should be something. Keep at it lads, and a visit over here sometime wouldn’t go amiss either. Not sure about the pony tail though.
