Latest additions for Latitude 2008: Grinderman, Mars Volta & Seasick Steve

The pessimist in me thought that the organisers could never better last years incredible lineup (Wilco, Arcade Fire, Midlake, Loney Dear..you get the picture). Looks like I’ve been proved wrong already. The first acts for this years Suffolk based Latitude festival have been announced today, and my oh my, it’s gonna be a good ‘un.

So far we’ve got TLOBF favourites Elbow, Death Cab For Cutie (!!!!!), Interpol and Sigur Ros. Other acts confirmed are Franz Ferdinand, The Breeders, Amadou and Mariam and M.I.A. On the comedian front, Bill Bailey, Simon Amstell and Phil Jupitus will all be appearing in the ever popular Comedy Tent.

The great news (for me at least) is that the festival site, in the beautiful surroundings of South Wold on the Suffolk coast is only a 15 minute drive from my house. No camping for me! Hoo-rah!!

TICKET INFORMATION
Weekend tickets cost £130 plus booking fees, Day tickets Fri, Sat, Sun cost £55 plus booking fee. Weekend tickets prices include car parking and camping. Day tickets include car parking only.

But tickets by calling 0870 060 3775 or online at www.festivalrepublic.com, www.seetickets.com, www.latitudefestival.co.uk

More news on the lineup as we get it.

07/04/08UPDATE: Several new acts have been added to the music lineup. The Go! Team, Mars Volta and Tindersticks are all exciting additions. Even more exciting is an apperance from Nick Caves’ Grinderman. Plus, the welcome return of one last years highlights Seasick Steve.

there has been nothing concrete confirmed as of yet. but, judging by the poster above, i would hazard a guess that it would be the saturday night.

Hi. just a quick message to say that calls to 0870 numbers can cost up to 7p per minute from most landlines. This will cover you for advertising a number on the blog without any notices of charges. Hope you dont mind me doing this.
