Death Cab For Cutie have announced a very short tour of this fair isle in July. In support of their eagerly awaited new album Narrow Stairs, the Seattle four piece will play Birmingham, Manchester and London – culminating in a rare UK festival appearence at Latitude in Suffolk.
The band will also be over in the UK on May 6th for a one off date at London’s Electric Ballroom (previously advertised as Koko). This has now totally sold out, so if you want a chance to preview the album before its release on 12 May, you better save your pennies for those pesky touts.
Those dates in full:

Wed 16 MANCHESTER Apollo £16
Thurs 17 LONDON Brixton Academy £17.50

You can listen to Death Cab’s brand new single ‘I Will Possess Your Heart’ over on their myspace page. It is, a departure for sure from the heavily commercial sound of Plans. I personally hear quite a bit of the American Analog Set in there. A good thing. Plus, does anyone else think the opening piano sounds just like ‘I Am Trying To Break Your Heart’ by Wilco? Yeah, thought so.
