The Hold Steady sign to Rough Trade

Posted on 17 April 2008 by Rich Thane

The Hold Steady have just completed the recording of their fourth album, the follow-up to their massively-acclaimed Boys & Girls In America. Yesterday the band announced that the new record will be exclusively licensed to Rough Trade for its UK and Europe release, ending their three album run with Full Time Hobby.

Singer Craig Finn says: “We are really excited to begin this relationship with Rough Trade. From The Smiths to the Strokes, they have consistently released music from great artists and we are honored to be a part of the roster. Rough Trade records have been part of my own collection since I started buying my own records in the early 1980s.”

The band will be playing the following dates next month:
11-May  ATP Festival @ Camber Sands (*headline*)
13-May Dublin  Academy
14-May Belfast Spring and Airbrake
16-May Brighton The Great Escape Festival

More dates and album details as we get them.
