There’s not a better combo for a fan of music than a purebred festival. Boy do Pitchfork have a doozy for you all this year. They’d have to after last year’s festival saw Sonic Youth perform Daydream Nation, GZA/Genius performing Liquid Swords, and Slint laying everyone to waste with Spiderland (in conjunction with All Tomorrow’s Parties). The Windy City progenitors of taste just announced the initial lineup of this year’s festival. TLOBF hopes to be there to take in all the sounds and sights and relay them back to you: our valued readers. I mean we’re already stoked about ATP vs. Pitchfork, so why not?
The 2008 edition of Pitchfork’s third annual indie music falderal returns Chicago’s Union Park on Friday, July 18, Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20. Let’s cut to the juicy bits and lay down the initial lineup (Pitchfork intends to have a lineup of 41 bands/artists):
