We’re as keen as anyone for news on the latest activity of the great M. Ward, but this wasn’t exactly it. Rumours abound of him joining Conor Oberst for a new band, which didn’t happen. But now it turns out Ward has been working with actress Zoey Deschanel on a new project called She & Him. There’s a record and everything. It’s to be called Volume 1 and will be released, via Merge records, on 18th March in the US. No info on a UK release yet though…

The pair will be playing a couple of live shows to, but I could only find details of them playing as part of the Merge showcase at the next SXSW. Here’s the tracklisting and we’ve got a sneaky mp3 beneath…
