Just been reading the 'TLOBF loves Benjamin Blower' posting. I knew about the ep download but didn't realize he had an album scheduled for this year. He gets my vote for most exciting and unconventional act of 2008. Like British Sea Power he's been around for a couple of years and released some solid gold through the Zang label. But just like BSP, Benjamin seems like he's on solid form this year. Oh and he has a cool first name too.

Oh man, you guys are missing out on the Dirtbombs. I think they might have just released a year defining totally paranoid cd. And, you guys should pick up on the Alan Moore penned 'Leopardman from the C+A' in a review or news item post. It would link Detroit garage to Bauhaus to Moore in one quick step.

of course I may be totally wrong on all of this...

Cut Copy's sophomore in Feb-March should be great if you like the indie-electro 80's synth pop sound.

Love the site kids keep up the good work in oh eight

YES to Fanfarlo, I love those guys.

I'm waiting with interest to see what Economy Wolf can do, layered shoegaze-y type stuff.
http://www.myspace.com/economywolf

And another shoegaze type band from Ireland called Butterfly Explosion.
http://www.myspace.com/butterflyexplosion

These guys have become quite successful already this year but have only been self-releasing their album. NY distortion lead indie-rock, or something.

So, I'll mostly be staring intently at my shoes/feet next year?

I definitely second the Wave Pictures choice. I'll eat my little indie hat if this lot don't make many many new friends in 08.

Nice choices there mate. As far as new music by more esteemed bands go - im desperately looking forward to a new Death Cab album - along with the elusive second bt the Postal Service.

Los Campesinos get my vote too. Sleeping States need more exposure, they're album is fantastic. Also looking forward to hearing more from Fanfarlo who are very promising. www.myspace.com/fanfarlo
Lets also hope for an album from emmy the great - judging by her past few singles, a full length could be very promising indeed.
