The Black Arts for Christmas Number 1!

No, it’s not some kind of Harry Potter spin off, it is, in fact, the identity of a spun together band of Art Brut’s Eddie Argos and the, rather wonderful, Black Box Recorder.

As The Black Arts they’ve penned a snappily titled “Christmas Number One”, about a Christmas single that takes on a life of its own. Having not heard it, I can’t tell you what it sounds like. However, it’s bound to be full of twisted pop genius.

Fantastic Plastic offers up “Christmas Number One” as a limited edition (1,000 copies) of green 7″ vinyl on December 10, and as a digital download on December 3. But it’s up to you, the record-buying public, to take it to number one!

So then kids, buy, buy, buy and let’s make sure something half decent gets to number 1 this Christmas… or the puppy gets it!

Listen to the track in full below.
