Hello, Blue Roses – Dan Bejar’s new side project

helloblueroses_band.jpg

Hello, Blue Roses is a new duo, one half of which is the rather talented Dan Bejar and the other a young lady called Sydney Vermont. They’ve recorded their debut record, to be called Hello Blue Roses (without the comma), and it’ll be released on Jan 22nd via Chicago’s Locust imprint.

The 14-track album apparently finds the duo subverting the normal indie rock schtick. Bejar, via their press release, “The Hello, Blue Roses songs are completely untethered to any of the bullshit streams coursing through the scene right now…a product of not really caring what people think, but still caring a lot about people.” Sounds intriguing.

There’s a taster mp3 at the bottom of this post…
