Wilco UK shows cancelled

Bad news this Tuesday evening I’m afraid – Wilco have cancelled the UK dates of their tour.

EDIT: Official word from Wilcoworld now:

We are sorry to announce that due to a scheduling conflict we’ve had to cancel the UK portion of the November tour. The dates in Belgium, Spain and Ireland are NOT affected and will go on as scheduled. We regret any inconvenience this causes and hope to schedule new UK dates soon. In the meantime, individual promoters/venues will have refund information.

Apart from the fact that the UK is one of the epicenters of great music it also has supported Wilco for many years and the fans based in Britain deserve to see the band play and treated with respect. Confusion with scheduling is a SHIT excuse.

Britain is NOT an epicenter for great music. Quite the contrary; I have heard nothing exciting come from the U.K. in a long time. Just the same old “Arctic Monkeys” type drivel. Wilco is amazing and Jeff Tweedy has been very open about his irritation at British crowds.

Come back to Britain Jeff – got to hear Impossible Germany live. Best thing since Neil Youngs Like a Hurricane. I will shout for the rest of the country.
