In a sprawling interview for Pitchfork, BoH mainman Ben Bridwell unveiled that their new album is to be called Cease to Begin. So there you have it! We asked him ourselves when we interviewed him back in May but apparently hardly any of the songs had titles, let alone the album.
Bridwell told Pitchfork he had plans on calling the album Pastor of Muppets, though their label Sub Pop didn’t see the funny side. Bridwell also suggested that at one time the band wanted to call the album Jason; “well, we kind of have a stupid inside joke where we talked about if you were in some random dark sex club and you got a really firm grip on your shoulder, you know, from behind, and you ask yourself, [spooky voice] “Jason?” And then you turn around, and you’re like, “That’s Jason,” you know? And then you go and have sex with Jason.”
Songs that are confirmed to appear on the album are Ode to the LRC, No One’s Gonna Love You, and Window Blues. The album, Cease To Begin will be released on Sub Pop on October 9th. So…in the immortal words of Bridwell “Lets Get Some!”.
